Garages get so cluttered because people sometimes just refuse to throw things out regardless of how silly the reason may be for keeping the item. Do we really need to keep those old towels even though we already have a barrel full of rags? It is really necessary to find a home for every rusty screw we take out of the various home improvement projects we do?

Every good idea needs a plan and for your garage organization system you need good garage organization ideas. You have to decide what is important to keep and what can be discarded and sometimes it may not be able to stick with those decisions but once you put garage organization ideas into place you have to stand by them to give them a chance to work.

If You Don’t Use it then Throw it out

If you have something you have never used in years and you can honestly not think of any moment when you will ever need the item then you have two choices. You can throw it out. If it seems to have some value then collect these items together and have a garage sale. Either way it is always a good garage organization idea to get rid of items you know you have never used and you suspect you will never ever use anyways.

It is not always easy to prioritize your junk but if you don’t get a handle on it early then it can take over your garage. An organized garage is a wonderful thing to have.
