It really all starts from getting the market. I see a lot of people first start from the product then looking for the market. This is really the wrong way to go about it. You might have a fantastic product and think people would like it.
You then put it in the market place and see that no one has touched it. This is because you have given the market the wrong product.
That is why you should always start from the market then look for a suitable product to provide them. You can study your market by finding the right keywords people in your chosen market would use in the search engines to find your product. Once you have the keywords, use these keywords to find communities where these people hang out. Join the conversation and see what their fears, concerns and worries are.
Once you know what triggers them, then start contributing to this community asserting yourself as an authority figure in this community. Soon people in the community will see that you are constantly providing good content and hence you would be the person they would be listen to for advice and tips.
Once you have their attention start recommending products that have proven to convert to sales. You can do this through article marketing, using a blog or a website.
But I would say even before you start selling them anything, get them on your list. List building is absolutely important because the more targeted prospects you have the more you can market similar products to them. Use a good autoresponder to capture their names and email address so you can communicate with them in future. An autoresponder simply automates your email marketing campaign and is a very useful and valuable tool as an internet marketer. Get yourself one.
Once you start marketing to them, make sure you presell them rather than giving them all affiliate offers provide them with useful information that will help them. This will increase the trust they have in you and start buying products you recommend.
